WordPress Website Development
WordPress website development here means a custom theme written for your site, only the plugins it really needs, and code you own outright. It is how algodevelop.com itself is built: our own theme, no page builder, and a set of plugins we wrote in-house.

We build business sites, blogs, members’ areas and WooCommerce stores on self-hosted WordPress. Your team edits the pages afterwards, and the site stays quick because nothing loads that a page does not use. It is one part of our wider website development work.

Is WordPress the right choice for your site?
WordPress runs a large share of the web, and for good reasons. It is free and open source, almost every host supports it, and most people pick up its editor quickly. But it is not the answer to everything, so good WordPress website development starts by checking that it fits.
WordPress suits
- Business and service sites your team updates often
- Blogs, news and other content-heavy sites
- Online stores on WooCommerce
- Members’ areas, course pages and lead forms
- Sites that feed content to a mobile app through the REST API
Look elsewhere when
- The site is really an application, with dashboards, complex roles or heavy calculations
- Many users need live, real-time updates at the same moment
- Three pages that never change would do the job
- Nobody will ever update WordPress or its plugins
For the first list, WordPress is hard to beat. For the second, a web application or a plain static site is the honest recommendation, and you will hear it before you spend anything.
What our WordPress website development covers
You can hire us for one part of a WordPress project or for all of it:
- Custom themes
- Block editor (Gutenberg)
- Block patterns
- Custom post types
- Custom plugins
- WooCommerce
- REST API endpoints
- Forms and lead capture
- Rank Math or Yoast set-up
- Schema markup
- Migrations
- Speed work
- Security hardening
Custom post types turn repeated content, such as team members, properties or courses, into proper records with their own fields instead of copied pages. REST API endpoints let WordPress exchange data with an app, a CRM or your own software. And lead capture should end somewhere useful: the trial form for our ready-made copiers takes an email and a WhatsApp number, shows the trial key straight away and records the lead.

Custom WordPress theme development, without a page builder
The site you are reading runs on a theme we wrote. It has a dark and champagne-gold design, it was built mobile-first, and it uses no page builder. That last choice is deliberate, and it is the one we usually recommend.
Page builders let anyone drag a layout together, which is genuinely useful. But every page then carries the builder’s scripts, styles and nested markup, whether it uses them or not.
Theme built on a page builder
Anyone can rearrange a layout. The design drifts as people improvise, and leaving the builder later usually means rebuilding each page.
Custom theme on the block editor
Pages stay light and consistent. Your team edits text, images and whole sections from blocks and patterns made for your design.
Custom WordPress theme development follows the official Theme Handbook: proper templates, block editor support, translation-ready text and escaped output. If your team depends on a builder it already knows, we can work inside it, after showing you what it costs in speed.
WordPress plugin development: what we built for ourselves
Plugins are where WordPress stops being a brochure and starts doing work. These four run on algodevelop.com, and we wrote every one of them:
None of them is decoration. Each gives the business an API, a set of records or an admin screen that no off-the-shelf plugin offered. That is the test for WordPress plugin development in general: write a plugin when no maintained one fits, or when the one that fits drags in ten features you will never use.
The rules come from the Plugin Handbook. Never edit WordPress core or someone else’s plugin. Check permissions and nonces on every action. Sanitise what comes in, escape what goes out, and clean up when the plugin is uninstalled.

WordPress speed optimisation that lasts
A slow WordPress site is rarely slow because of WordPress. It is slow because of what was piled on top. So WordPress speed optimisation that lasts means removing causes, not hiding them under a caching plugin. Google measures the result with its Core Web Vitals: how fast the main content appears, how quickly the page responds to a tap, and how much the layout jumps while it loads.
| Cause | What we do about it |
|---|---|
| Page builder and theme bloat | Move to a lean theme, or strip unused builder assets page by page. |
| Oversized images | Resize to the size actually shown, serve WebP, and lazy-load anything below the first screen. |
| Too many plugins | Audit each one, then remove it, merge it or replace it with a few lines of code. |
| Third-party scripts | Load chat widgets, trackers and embeds late, or only when someone needs them. |
| Web fonts | Fewer weights, files served from your own domain, and text that shows while fonts load. |
| Weak hosting or old PHP | Hosting sized for your traffic, on a PHP version WordPress currently recommends. |
| No caching at all | Page caching and, where it helps, a CDN, added after the causes above are fixed. |

The order matters. Caching a bloated page gives you a faster bloated page, and the moment someone logs in or adds to a cart, the cache steps aside and the bloat is back.
Need a WordPress site, or a slow one fixed?
Send the address of your current site, or a few lines about the new one. We reply on WhatsApp with a few questions, then a fixed quote.
Ask for a WordPress quoteHow WordPress website development runs
- Scope. We list the page types, what each one holds, the plugins you need and anything that must connect to another system. You get a fixed quote and a typical timeline.
- Hosting and staging. Hosting is set up in your name, with a private staging copy where all the work happens.
- Design and theme. Once you approve the design, we build the theme, with the blocks and patterns your team will use to edit pages.
- Content structure. Custom post types, fields and menus go in, so repeated content has a proper home.
- Plugins and integrations. Only the ones agreed in scope: forms, SEO, caching, backups and any custom plugin.
- Testing. Phones, tablets and desktops, forms that really deliver, and speed measured on a mobile connection.
- Launch and training. Staging moves to live, backups switch on, and your team learns to edit and publish.

A typical business site usually goes from approved design to launch in a few weeks, depending on scope and on how quickly the content arrives. The quote is a fixed price, as our pricing page explains, and it states the timeline for your project.
Hosting, updates and security after launch
Security is the part of WordPress website development that never really ends. Most break-ins come through outdated plugins and themes or weak passwords, not through WordPress core. A site we hand over is set up like this:
- Updates to WordPress, themes and plugins are tried on staging before they reach the live site.
- Automatic backups are stored away from the server, and a restore has been tested.
- Every administrator signs in with two-factor authentication, and nobody shares an account.
- Each person gets the lowest role that lets them do their job.
- The site runs on a current PHP version, with HTTPS everywhere.
- Paid plugins and themes carry licences in your name, so updates keep arriving.
You can keep this up yourself or ask us to. Either way, you hold the main admin account, so no WordPress development company, us included, can lock you out of your own site.
What we will not promise you
Start with speed scores. A page with a YouTube embed, a chat widget and three tracking scripts will never score like a plain one, so a perfect PageSpeed score on every page is not on offer. We would rather show you what each script costs than hide it.
Nor will we claim that WordPress cannot be hacked. Nothing online is unbreakable; updates, backups and sensible logins make a site a hard target and a quick recovery. We will not install pirated or “nulled” plugins, which often carry malware. An SEO plugin does not rank a site either: Rank Math or Yoast helps with titles, descriptions and schema, and your content and links do the rest. And you will still need a developer now and then. Editing content is yours; a new kind of feature is still code.
WordPress website development – frequently asked questions
Do you build with Elementor or other page builders?
By default our WordPress website development uses custom themes on the block editor, without a page builder, the same way this site is built. If your site already runs on a builder and your team relies on it, we can work inside it. We explain the speed cost first, so the choice stays yours.
Can I edit my WordPress site myself after launch?
Yes. Text, images, posts, menus and products are edited in the normal WordPress admin, using blocks and patterns made for your design. Your team gets a walk-through at handover, and only a new kind of layout or feature needs a developer.
Can you build a custom plugin for my business?
Yes. Our own licence server, signal receiver, TradingView webhook relay and WhatsApp bot manager are all WordPress plugins we wrote. If a maintained plugin already does what you need, we will recommend it instead of writing a new one.
Can you fix or speed up my existing WordPress site?
Yes. Send us the address and describe the problem. We tell you what is causing it, whether that is a heavy builder, oversized images, too many plugins or weak hosting, and quote a fixed price for the fix. We do not promise a particular PageSpeed score, because hosting and third-party scripts affect it.
Can you move my site to WordPress from another platform?
Usually, yes. Pages, posts, images and often products can be moved, and every old URL gets a redirect so links and search results keep working. How much of it is automatic depends on what the old platform lets you export.
Who owns the theme and plugin code?
You do. You receive the full source of the custom theme and any plugin we write for you, and every account stays in your name. WordPress itself is open source under the GPL, so there is no licence fee for it.
Do you offer WordPress maintenance?
Yes, if you want it. It covers updates tested on staging, backups, security checks and small changes, and it is quoted separately. You can also look after updates yourself after the handover.
Can a WordPress developer in India work with my team abroad?
Yes. Our WordPress website development work runs mostly over WhatsApp and Telegram, with clients in India and abroad, and progress lives on a staging link you can open at any time. Your team keeps the admin accounts throughout. Start on the contact page or on WhatsApp.
Can WordPress receive webhooks from TradingView or other services?
Yes, through a custom REST endpoint, which is how our own TradingView webhook relay works. If trading automation is your real goal, see TradingView strategy automation, trading bot development or our anonymised portfolio of trading software.
