Telegram Bot Development

Telegram bot development for jobs you are tired of doing by hand: answering the same questions, posting to channels on time, forwarding messages between chats, or pushing alerts from your own systems into Telegram. We build the bot, set it up on your server or PC, and hand you the code.

The first choice is which kind of automation you need. A bot on the official Bot API is one thing. Automation on your own account through MTProto is another, and it reaches places a bot cannot. This page explains both, so you know what to ask any Telegram bot developer, us included. For customer chats on WhatsApp, see WhatsApp bot development.

What Telegram bot development covers

Most requests are one of five jobs, and many projects combine two or three:

Telegram supplies the interface itself, because buttons, menus, files and payments are part of the platform. So Telegram bot development is usually quicker than a full app development project, and nobody has to install anything new.

Bot API bots and user-account automation

A bot on the Bot API

You create it with @BotFather, which issues a token, and it talks to Telegram through the Bot API. It is clearly a bot and sees only chats it has been added to. In groups, privacy mode limits it to commands and replies unless you turn that off or make it an admin.

Your own account through MTProto

The software signs in as a normal user, with an api_id and api_hash from Telegram plus your phone number and login code. We use Telethon in Python for this. It can read any channel your account has joined, and it acts as you.

Our rule: if a Bot API bot can do the job, we build that. Your account is for sources a bot cannot reach, such as a signal channel you subscribe to.

What a custom Telegram bot can do

A custom Telegram bot follows your process rather than someone else’s template. Beyond answering questions, these come up most:

✓
Telegram channel automationPosts at times you set, pins, welcomes new members, approves join requests by your rules, and issues invite links that expire or work once.
✓
Paid accessSends an invite link once a payment is confirmed and removes members whose access has ended. Telegram has its own rules for payments inside the app, so we agree the payment route first.
✓
Group moderationRemoves links, spam and banned words, mutes repeat offenders and logs what it did.
✓
Mini AppsWhen chat buttons are not enough, a small web page opens inside Telegram for forms, catalogues or dashboards.

Auto-forward bots and channel copiers

Forwarding sounds like one feature, but it is three different jobs:

Try a ready-made tool before paying for a custom one. If it fits, you save the build. If not, the trial shows you exactly what to ask for when you contact us.

Need a Telegram bot?

Tell us which chats are involved and what the bot should do. We will say which route fits, then send a fixed quote. Prefer Telegram? Message @iLyaz7 there.

Rate limits and Telegram’s rules

Telegram limits how fast anything can send. The Bots FAQ gives rough numbers for the Bot API:

LimitRoughlyHow the bot handles it
One chatOne message per secondQueues and spaces messages to the same person.
One group20 messages per minuteGroups updates into fewer, fuller posts.
Many usersAbout 30 messages per secondSpreads a broadcast over time.
Over the limitError 429 with a wait timeWaits as told, then resumes.

User accounts face stricter limits that Telegram does not publish. Push too hard and it imposes a flood wait, sometimes of hours, and an account that messages strangers too often can be restricted to mutual contacts. Telegram’s API terms forbid spam and abuse, and accounts that flood chats or send spam can be limited or banned. So our user-account tools read at a human pace and send sparingly.

Telegram API integration with your systems

A bot earns its keep when it is connected to something. Telegram API integration usually means one of these:

This plumbing is familiar ground. The WordPress plugins on this site include a signal-message receiver with REST endpoints and a TradingView webhook relay, both built in-house, and the portfolio shows the rest. For a dashboard around the bot, see web application development or WordPress website development.

Where it runs and what drives the cost

A bot must stay online. A Bot API bot usually runs on a small VPS or your existing server and receives updates by polling or by webhook, which needs a public HTTPS address. User-account tools can run on a Windows PC, as our desktop apps do, but a VPS keeps them up while the PC sleeps.

Cost driverWhy it moves the quote
Commands and flowsEvery command, button and branch is something to build and test.
IntegrationsEvery outside system brings its own login, errors and tests.
Admin panelEditing answers or schedules without a developer needs screens of its own.
AI repliesThe knowledge base and guard rails take time, and the AI provider bills you per use.
LanguagesHindi and English, say, means two sets of replies to write and check.

Telegram bot development is quoted at a fixed price after a short scoping chat. A simple command bot can be ready in days, while one with payments, an admin panel and integrations usually takes a few weeks, depending on scope. You pay any hosting straight to the host. More on pricing.

How a Telegram bot development project runs

  1. Tell us the job. Which chats, what triggers the bot and what it should say or do. Screenshots help.
  2. We pick the route: Bot API or your account, webhook or polling, and where it runs. Then a fixed quote with a timeline.
  3. You create the bot with @BotFather, or prepare the account, so the token and the login stay in your name.
  4. We build and test it in a private chat or test channel, so nothing reaches your members early.
  5. It goes live with a log of everything it does, and we tune the wording and timing.
  6. Handover: source code, a short guide and the setup on your own server.

What we will not promise you

We will not build spam tools: no mass messages to people who never asked, no adding people to groups without consent and no scraping member lists. Telegram bans accounts for this, and your brand would carry the damage.

We will not promise that user-account automation can never be limited. Telegram decides that, and its rules change, so we design well inside them and tell you the risk plainly. And no tool can read a private channel that neither the bot nor your account has joined.

Telegram can change its API, limits or terms at any time. If a change breaks something we built, we tell you what changed and what the fix involves.

Telegram bot development – frequently asked questions

How is a Telegram bot different from a userbot?

A bot uses the official Bot API and sees only chats it is added to. A userbot signs in as your own account through MTProto, so it can read any channel you have joined and act as you. We use a bot whenever one can do the job.

Can a bot copy messages from a channel I do not own?

No. A bot must be an admin of a channel to read it. Copying from a channel you only follow needs automation on your own account, which is how our Telegram to Telegram copier works.

Can my bot message people who have never used it?

No. A person has to start the conversation, by tapping Start or meeting the bot in a group. After that, the bot can reply and send updates within Telegram’s limits.

How many messages can a bot send?

Telegram’s Bots FAQ gives roughly one message per second in one chat, 20 per minute in one group and about 30 per second across many users. Above that, Telegram returns an error with a wait time, and a well-built bot waits.

Can the bot reply with AI?

Yes. It can draft replies from your own knowledge base and hand over to a person when unsure. You pay the AI provider for usage, and the bot stays within your content rather than answering everything.

Do I own the bot and the code?

Yes. You create the bot with @BotFather, so the token is yours, and you receive the source code and a short guide. Nothing depends on our servers to keep running.

How much does Telegram bot development cost?

The number of commands and flows, the integrations, an admin panel, AI replies and languages decide it. You get a fixed quote once we have talked it through on WhatsApp or Telegram, and any hosting is paid by you directly to the host.

Is user-account automation allowed by Telegram?

Telegram provides the API for it, under terms that forbid spam and abuse. Reading channels you have joined at a normal pace is ordinary use, while bulk messaging and scraping get accounts limited or banned. We build only the first kind.
